Chapter Executive

The Highlands Chapter of the American Red Cross, located in Fayetteville, NC, seeks a Chapter Executive to provide vision and strategic leadership to a management team of both paid and volunteer staff.

 The Chapter Executive ensures the delivery of top quality programs including disaster preparedness and response, Health and Safety education and armed forces emergency services while engaging the community as donors, volunteers and supporters of the organization.  The Chapter Executive acts as a representative of the Red Cross in the local community and works to develop collaborative relationships with external audiences including government, business, other charitable and social service agencies and the media.

 Qualified candidates will have a BS/BA in administration or relevant equivalent experience plus 5 years in business or administration.  Experience in the management of a non-profit and fundraising preferred. Organization Summary                Responsible for sales, planning and evaluation.  Responsible for the strategic development, design, direction and management of multiple Health & Safety Services (H&SS) programs and services within the chapter jurisdiction (Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke and Sampson counties) and for ensuring coordination of activities with other chapters and overall national direction.   

Duties/ Essential Functions

1.  Staff Management.  Recruits, develops, supervises and evaluates department employee and volunteer staff.  Staff consists primarily of paid and volunteer instructors, and volunteer administrative support.

2.  Customer Service Management.  Develops and implements customer account management system.  Establishes and maintains customer service standards to ensure customer satisfaction, as well as compliance to established organizational guidelines.  Evaluates customer satisfaction levels, develops and implements alternative service delivery methods to better meet customer needs, if necessary.

3.  Program and Fiscal Management.  Directs and coordinates activities concerned with the implementation of the program objectives.  In consultation with chapter management, establishes budget, including projected revenue and expenses.  Responsible for meeting revenue projections.  Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.

4.  Marketing.  Develops pricing structure for products and services based on organizational policy and customer and market data.  Formulates advertising campaigns, publicity releases and promotional activities.

5.  Sales Planning.  Conducts market analyses to determine existing and potential customer needs and volume potential while making sales plans.  Formulates sales forecasts and translates them into operational and profit plans to achieve growth and sales objectives.

6.  Sales Execution.  Contacts prospects to sell products and services, explaining features and benefits and how they meet prospects’ needs, demonstrating the products and services, and helping to apply them in the best way.  Answers questions, providing referrals when necessary.

7.  Sales Management.   Develops, analyzes and reviews sales reports to ensure achievement of revenue goals.  Analyzes records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments and obligations incurred.  Oversees development and maintenance of potential customer lists.

8.  Relationship Management.  Establishes and maintains relationships with external agencies, funding sources, businesses, internal customers and other stakeholders.

  9. Experience in grant and proposal writing.
