American Red Cross Assists Over 200 After Local Hotel Floods
December 22, 2012 Fayetteville, NC: The American Red Cross is currently responding to the scene of a fire and flooding at the Value Place Extended Stay on Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville. After a small fire ignited in one unit the sprinkler system was initiated and caused flooding in the first two floors of the hotel, affecting 208 individuals. The American Red Cross is setting up a processing center at Westover Recreation Center where Red Cross Caseworkers will meet with each and every family to provide shelter, food, and clothing as needed.
The American Red Cross prepares and responds to disasters every day of the year. The American Red Cross responded to over 1,000 disasters last year in our region alone and provided over 30,000 nights of shelter.
