On the morning of September 30, 2011 the North Carolina Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy (TCA) Class 37 held a Walk-a-thon involving all teams in the Academy.
Each TCA class donates a portion of the money they collect to charitable organizations.
On the afternoon of October 28, 2011, Class 37 presented a $1000.00 check to Victoria Raleigh, Executive Director of the Highlands Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Ms Raleigh presented a Red Cross plaque to the cadets. She then explained to the cadets how much the Red Cross helps in the aftermath of disasters and gave examples of how the money would be used. The cadets were told how much their contribution meant and how it would be appreciated by people in need from natural disasters and unforeseen events such as recent condominium fires.
